10 departmental heads from The Mater Hospital Crows Nest attended a pilgrimage on Wednesday April 6th.
After hearing the inspiring story of Catherine McAuley they enjoyed a visit to the Mercy archives to view The Mater's history.
The group then boarded a bus to St Patrick's Church Hill. A guided tour of St Patrick’s revealed the history of the church in Australia and the part the Mercy Sisters played in those early years of the colony.
The pilgrimage then continued to places of significance to the Sisters of Charity including St Vincent's Potts Point and St Vincent's Hospital.
