8 March is International Women's Day

From the foundation of the order, Sisters of Mercy have been advocates for women in Church and Society, committed to gender inclusivity and through education particularly, have worked to enable young women to reach their potential. Marking International Women's Day on 8 March is one expression of this commitment.

The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2024 is Inspire Inclusion.

When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world.

And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.

Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women.
